After a successful pilot phase in Hamburg: DPD launches Germany-wide cooperation with myflexbox in 2025
Press release 4 December 2024
DPD Germany is pressing ahead with its out-of-home strategy and is systematically expanding its parcel delivery and drop-off options. In addition to the strategic partnership with GLS, which will be accompanied by a network expansion to 10,000 Pickup parcel shops at the end of the year and the establishment of a joint parcel station network in the coming years, customers will be able to receive and drop off parcels nationwide via myflexbox parcel stations from the beginning of 2025. The first myflexbox parcel stations are already available to DPD customers as part of a pilot project in the greater Hamburg area. From January 2025 the cooperation with myflexbox will be extended to the whole of Germany.
‘The cooperation with myflexbox is a targeted continuation of our out-of-home strategy. As part of our network partnership with GLS, we will be putting a total of 1,000 parcel stations into operation in the coming year. Thanks to the cooperation with myflexbox, our customers will also benefit from even more parcel stations in their neighbourhood, where they can collect, send or return their DPD parcels around the clock. In this way we are improving our service offering and noticeably increasing the added value for our shipping and receiving customers,’
explains Michael Knaupe, Chief Customer Experience & Business Development Officer at DPD Germany.
Jonathan Grothaus, Co-CEO & Founder of myflexbox, emphasises:
‘The cooperation is of particular importance to us, as DPD was our first parcel service partner in Austria. Our nationwide network in Germany will consist of over 1,000 myflexboxes by the end of 2025. Our vision is to be able to hand over all parcels, which we have already achieved in Austria. This will enable us to offer customers unique added value in Europe. We are looking forward to taking the next big step together with DPD, our fourth integrated parcel service provider in Germany.’
The cooperation with the Austrian smart city company myflexbox complements the network partnership concluded with GLS in October 2024. The aim is to give shippers and consignees access to a total of around 20,000 out-of-home points in the form of parcel stations and parcel shops in Germany by 2027.
