DPD Poland ends the year with 9,000 parcel lockers and announces further growth

Press release 9 January 2025

The pre-Christmas parcel peak shows the current importance of courier services and customers’ needs for flexible logistics solutions, especially those supporting e-commerce. At DPD Poland, this intensive period coincided with the launch of the nine-thousandth parcel locker within the DPD Pickup network. However, this is not the end. As part of its development strategy, the company plans to increase this number by another 3,000 lockers next year.

Parcel lockers and drop-off and pick-up points are DPD Poland's response to the needs of modern consumers who appreciate the ability to decide to decide for themselves where and when to collect their parcel. Parcel lockers are part of the DPD Pickup network of 31,000 drop-off and pick-up points throughout Poland. Their dynamic growth is the result of the intensive development of the e-commerce market and the growing interest of consumers in out-of-home (OOH) delivery services.

“Exceeding the number of 9,000 parcel lockers is an important step for us in building a modern logistics infrastructure. We are thereby able to respond to the dynamically changing needs of customers in the e-commerce sector and growing volumes, especially in such intensive periods as, for example, the parcel peak. Parcel lockers are a solution that meets contemporary trends. They provide convenience, flexibility and the ability to choose according to one's own preferences. We see how much interest our entire DPD Pickup network enjoys, which is why we are consistently developing it. The planned launch of another 3,000 lockers next year is a natural step that will allow us to respond even better to the needs of our customers. DPD Pickup is not only logistics – it is convenience, availability and modern technologies such as DPD Mobile, which have become part of the everyday life of Poles,”

says Łukasz Zembowicz, Sales and Marketing Director and Member of the Management Board of DPD Poland.

The largest number of DPD Pickup points and parcel lockers are located in Warsaw and Kraków. DPD parcel lockers are already available in over 1,000 towns and cities throughout Poland. Warsaw is once again the leader in the ranking of cities with the largest number of DPD parcel lockers. There are over 640 such machines in Warsaw. Second place goes to Łódź with almost 320 lockers. The list also includes Kraków (over 310), Wrocław (nearly 270) and Bydgoszcz (over 190).

Delivery services to points or parcel lockers perfectly complement the traditional and much-appreciated courier deliveries to specific address, be it home or office. Understanding the diverse needs of its customers, DPD Poland focuses on the complementarity of services, both for those who value traditional deliveries and for those choosing DPD Pickup points and parcel lockers.
