DPD Poland now has over 8,000 parcel lockers in its network of nearly 30,000 out-of-home collection points

Press release 12 September 2024

The pace of life and the need for flexibility and convenience mean that more and more people are using parcel lockers today. DPD Poland understands these needs well and continuously expands its DPD Pickup network, which now counts close to 30,000 points and parcel lockers. With the most accessible out-of-home (OOH) network in Poland, DPD is not stopping—the company plans to end the year with 9,000 parcel lockers and is planning further investments in out-of-home delivery solutions by 2025.

The company has been developing its parcel locker network since June 2021. The strategy for locating the lockers is based on analyzing the needs of residents in individual cities and regions. This allows DPD Poland to ensure maximum convenience and service availability for its customers, whether they live in large cities or rural areas.

DPD Pickup is a network that harmoniously integrates parcel lockers, urban branches, and drop-off and pick-up points located with our partners. The network now includes nearly 30,000 locations across Poland and over 110,000 throughout Europe. Parcel drop-off and pick-up points can be found in retail chains such as Żabka, Auchan, Leroy Merlin, Dino, OBI, Shell, and many others.

To make access and service management easier for customers, the DPD Mobile app is available. It allows users to manage shipments easily, check their current status, browse the archive of sent and received parcels, contact the courier, and find the nearest DPD Pickup points and lockers. Additionally, the DPD Mobile app offers very attractive deals on domestic and international shipments within the DPD Pickup network.

“We want to offer our customers a wide range of parcel drop-off and pick-up options, whether at home or out of home. Therefore, in addition to traditional courier deliveries to the address, we are dynamically developing our DPD Pickup network, including parcel lockers, to meet the growing demand for fast and convenient logistics solutions. Deploying over 8,000 parcel lockers across Poland reflects our commitment to adapting to changing trends and understanding the needs of consumers, driven by the pace of modern life and the desire for convenience. We have further development plans for the DPD Pickup network in the coming months, and we plan to close the year with 9,000 lockers. In 2025, our DPD Pickup network will continue to grow, meeting customer needs,”

commented Łukasz Zembowicz, Sales and Marketing Director at DPD Poland.

The parcel lockers in the DPD Pickup network are designed innovatively, blending harmoniously with their surroundings, and their ease of installation, compactness, and modularity ensure a high level of flexibility in responding to changing customer needs.

“The creator of SwipBox – Allan Kaczmarek, had a clear vision when developing the SwipBox Infinity parcel lockers: it was to be a unique solution combining speed, convenience, and modern technology. These devices, part of the DPD Pickup network, stand out with their touchless operation and ability to be installed in locations previously inaccessible to this type of solution—they take up just 1 square meter of space. Thanks to their modular design and battery power, we can flexibly adapt them to local conditions, and the installation process is quick. The lockers operate 24/7, which, along with the functionality of the DPD Mobile app, ensures uninterrupted access to DPD services. It’s worth noting that we developed this solution with the growing needs and demands of the e-commerce market in mind,”

added Michał Czechowski, Managing Director at SwipBox Poland.
