The ProGlove by DPD Switzerland

The art of moving things while improving ergonomic is at the heart of our daily delivery activity, and digitalisation is continuing to transform our industry. To simplify the sorting and shifting processes, DPD Switzerland has deployed a new scanning solution for frontline workers in 7 of its depots. Its newly developed ProGlove device enables to add the scanning process to the sorting movements, thanks to a hand-free barcode scanner. This innovation leads to significantly reducing the number of handling operations, thereby increasing efficiency and comfort for team members: thanks to this device, the parcel processing time is reduced by 75%.

The autonomous mobile locker robot by DPD UK

The DPD Locker robots, developed by DPD UK, are designed to provide a more sustainable and safe delivery solution, integrating perfectly into existing city infrastructures. These cutting-edge robots can make up to 8 deliveries as well as travel to predetermined public locations where they can be used as a drop-off point for consumer returns. The robots are equipped with 360° scanning capability and 12 surround cameras for added security, as well as a loudspeaker for additional alerts. With this solution, DPD UK is revolutionising last-mile delivery and providing a more sustainable tool that will contribute to decarbonising the logistics industry as a whole. 

 

  • The robot operates at a normal speed of 3 km/h and can reach up to 7 km/h

  • It takes 120 minutes to fully charge

  • The robot has 8 separate compartments

  • It features a touch screen for access to specific lockers using PIN/QR codes

The solar-powered locker by Pickup

Responding to a number of strategic challenges, both economic and environmental, Geopost’s Out-of-Home network operator, Pickup, has launched the first-ever solar powered lockers in France. This new generation locker, equipped with batteries and capable of operating for up to 10 days without sunlight, offers a collection service that is both convenient and has a lower environmental impact. Consuming less energy than their standard counterparts, these solar-powered lockers also help to reduce the electricity bills of partner retailers.
