Pickup x Mathilde Cabanas: lockers that add fun to everyday life
Press release 26 September 2023
Pickup, a subsidiary of Le Groupe La Poste and the no.1 pick-up point and locker network in France, has teamed up with Mathilde Cabanas to transform 75 of its parcel lockers into genuine works of art.
With her unmistakeable, iconic illustrations, the French designer adds a touch of whimsy to Pickup lockers. Kisses, smileys, tulips… Her colourful pop world is on full display through three different patterns stamped with fun and mischief. In addition to being ultra-practical, Pickup lockers now have genuine artistic merit.
The goal of the operation? Make everybody who sees them smile and say “wow” everyday!
Good timing. Because those are words Mathilde Cabanas lives by, and she is far from a beginner. An illustrator and graphic artist by training, in 2013 she founded the brand that bears her name.
Since then she has worked to reinterpret daily objects countless times, each time adding a touch of freshness and whimsy. The Pickup lockers are no exception. Mathilde is delighted to be involved in this new playing field, and has succeeded in blending practicality and aesthetics to give rise to a unique experience.
“I never thought I would be teaming up with a logistics company, but when Pickup came to me it seemed an obvious match. I loved being able to “redo” the lockers with my playful patterns, to brighten users’ daily lives.”
Mathilde Cabanas, creator of the Mathilde Cabanas brand
Pickup x Mathilde Cabanas lockers are dotted around France, in both large cities like Paris and Lyon, and smaller places like Mérignac and Saint-Laurent du Var, and can now even be found in some shops, such as Monoprix, and the RATP network. And that's not all, as in October they will also be making an appearance with a new partner, everywhere in France.
“At Pickup, we are delighted to be working with the wonderful Mathilde Cabanas. It promises to give users a unique ‘locker’ experience with a touch of pep and fun. It is a perfect fit for both our corporate identity and that of our partners, in that it provides people with services that make a difference.”
Maxime d'Hauteville, Chairman of Pickup
“Pickup lockers have found an audience in our network and have excellent usage rates: this pick-up solution makes life easier for our travellers as it is simple to pick up parcels in a broad time range. We are pleased to welcome Mathilde Cabanas's pop designs: the use of colour and good humour enhances the Pickup locker profile in our train stations and stops, and it brightens the trip for travellers!”

About Mathilde Cabanas
The adventure began in 2013 when Mathilde, an illustrator and graphic artist by training, completed and marketed her first birthday cards and invitations. The arrival of the iconic Kiss design followed by a series of successful collaborations enabled Mathilde to build up a small team and develop the brand.
Today, Mathilde designs daily products that bring a smile to people's faces, from umbrellas to doormats, tissue boxes to wallpaper. It was therefore perfectly natural for her to reinvent the look of the Pickup lockers so she could continue to bring a little joy and whimsy into daily life.
