SEUR consolidates its sponsorship agreement with the Spanish League of Universitary Debate (LEDU)

Press release 14 April 2023

  • The company will provide the organization with CO2-neutral shipments
  • This agreement as official sponsor materializes SEUR's commitment to young talent, culture and innovation.

SEUR, the leading delivery company in Spain, strengthens its collaboration agreement with the Spanish League of Universitary Debate (LEDU) as an official sponsor. This is the first dialectic competition created in Spain. The best speakers from different Spanish universities are invited to debate on current issues. SEUR continues to be, for the fourth consecutive year, the only company in the transport sector to sponsor this competition.

This collaboration reflects SEUR's commitment to the promotion of young talent and provides LEDU with logistical support through CO2-neutral shipments. In this way, the transport company contributes to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, an essential part of its corporate policy.

"This boost to the collaboration with LEDU is a source of great pride for the company. Supporting this type of activity that fosters healthy competitiveness among young people and, in turn, develops fundamental skills for their future, is perfectly aligned with our values. We hope to continue to be part of this project in the long term and to expand it with the different initiatives that arise, because we believe it is essential to contribute to the training of the leaders of the future,"

says David Sastre, customer director of SEUR.

Specifically, SEUR will participate in the final phase of LEDU 2023, to be held in Cordoba from September 29 to October 1, with the support of the City Council of Cordoba. This event will bring together the best national speakers from 16 teams after a qualifier contested in the main academic debate tournaments in Spain in which hundreds of debaters participate.

In addition to the final in Cordoba, SEUR will be present in other initiatives of this organization such as EY Voice, a training scholarship in which 20 students will participate in an immersive training in public speaking for a week at the University of Alcalá de Henares. And the 400 Seconds project, the Pechakucha Challenge, which will be carried out together with the Madrid College of Industrial Engineers.

Thanks to the support of sponsors and collaborators, the Liga Española de Debate Universitario - Spanish League of University Debate awards the largest prizes in the world of debate in Spanish. In this way, LEDU recognizes the efforts of the teams and shows its strong support for the activities of its debating clubs.

LEDU is the first public speaking competition created in Spain. Since its inception in 2000, it has annually brought together the best national speakers in an event of the highest level. During this time, LEDU has inspired the creation of debating societies, clubs and classrooms in most Spanish universities and has stimulated the inclusion of public speaking at all educational levels.

"Thanks to SEUR we fulfill two of our core values: sustainability in our day-to-day work as an event with CO2-neutral shipments, a commitment that both organizations maintain, and the commitment to talent to arrive on time to the responsibility with the new generations and a better future by boosting their skills for the benefit of society as a whole,"

says Alfonso Rodríguez de Sadia, CEO of the Spanish University Debate League.
