SEUR consolidates its leadership in Out Of Home solutions with a 7,000 pickup points record
Press release 20 June 2024
-
The company continues to expand its Pickup network, which includes convenience stores and smart lockers in order to meet the needs of its customers who are not at home at the time of delivery.
-
This is the largest network of points in Spain and SEUR plans to reach 8,000 by the end of this year
SEUR, the leading express transport company in Spain, has surpassed 7,000 active Pickup points distributed throughout the country. This network includes 1,000 lockers, or smart lockers, which facilitate more flexible and accessible collection for customers. This milestone not only highlights SEUR's leadership in the sector, but also reflects its firm commitment to innovation and stand along its global net zero strategy with the transition to low-carbon, low-emission vehicles.
In its strategic approach, SEUR has placed Out of Home (OOH) solutions as one of its growth axes. The increase in the use of these delivery methods has been made clear in the results of the latest edition of the E-shopper Barometer study carried out by SEUR on the purchasing habits of European e-shoppers. According to this analysis, the option of picking up parcels from lockers is once again positioned among the main delivery preferences, together with home deliveries as well as deliveries from convenience stores, thus reflecting an upward trend among consumer preferences.
SEUR’s Pickup network plays a crucial role in adapting to today’s lifestyles. These strategically located collecting points with flexible opening hours offer a convenient solution for customers with busy schedules, providing the flexibility to collect their packages at a time that best suits their needs.
Enrique Sánchez, Director of New Business and Diversification at SEUR points out:
"Reaching 7,000 points in our Pickup network marks a crucial step on our path towards a more sustainable and convenient service for new lifestyles. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation and delivery excellence, ensuring that SEUR continues to lead the way in transport solutions that respect both our customers' and the environment At SEUR, our corporate culture puts the customer at the center, through the personalization of services, transparency in operations and simplification of processes as key elements".
The map of SEUR Pickup network
In 2023, SEUR achieved an unprecedented milestone by carrying out 14 million shipments through its SEUR Pickup network. The company aims to expand this network to over 8,000 points by the end of 2024, including additional 1,500 lockers throughout Spain. This expansion not only responds to increased consumer demand but aligns with SEUR's global strategy and fundamentally is supported by its net zero strategy through the transformation of our fleets, operational efficiency and more. This versatility is particularly beneficial in periods of high demand, such as the upcoming summer sales, ensuring that deliveries are aligned with the specific needs of each customer.
An integrated strategy across Europe
Out Of Home solutions are key of the "Together & Beyond" strategic plan of Geopost, the group to which SEUR belongs. The focus is on the customer, offering both in-home and out-of-home deliveries throughout Europe via convenience stores or lockers.
At the end of April 2024, Geopost's network already had 110,000 pickup points in Europe, one of the most extensive out-of-home delivery networks in the market. Geopost is one of the largest players in out-of-home delivery in different European countries, including France (18,000 pickup points), Italy (8,800 points with Fermopoint), Germany (8,000 pickup points), the United Kingdom (11,000 pickup points) and Scandinavia (11,000 points, thanks to Geopost's strategic partnership with PostNord group). In addition, the number of lockers is also growing rapidly in Europe. To this end, Geopost is accelerating its smart locker strategy and already reached almost 23,000 lockers (11,000 more than at the end of 2022). The proportion of lockers will continue to grow in the coming years.
