SEUR, Spain's leading express transport company, continues its alliance with the Spanish University Debate League (LEDU) by being the official transport for the event for the fifth year in a row. The company will play an active role in the final phase of the competition, which will take place in Melilla from 27 to 29 September, sending invitations and the necessary material for the participants, meeting the decarbonisation pathway supported by SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) until reaching its goal of zero net emissions in 2040.
This year represents the fifth anniversary of the collaboration between SEUR and LEDU, a relationship that has grown every year between the leading express transport company and the organisation. SEUR stands out as the only company in its sector that not only supports this initiative but is also involved in all the competitions and actively participates in the organisation of the grand final.
Through this alliance, SEUR supports the young generations and promotes the most outstanding university dialectics in the country. The competition, which began with preliminary rounds in October 2023, will conclude in September 2024, after 15 tournaments throughout Spain, with the participation of hundreds of students. The final phase, which will take place at the Kursaal Theatre in Melilla, will see the top 16 teams in the circuit compete for the title of the best debating team in Spain.
“This partnership is particularly inspiring for us; not only are we supporting talented young people at a crucial stage of their academic development, but we are also contributing to the protection of the environment through our zero and low emission deliveries. This commitment reflects our mission to care for the planet for future generations. We are deeply proud of this partnership and strive to continue to strengthen it in the years to come”.
points out David Sastre, CEO of SEUR.
SEUR has also participated in other initiatives launched by LEDU. These include the EY Voice, a scholarship that has enabled 20 students to take part in an intensive one-week public speaking course at the University of Alcalá, and the 400 Seconds project, the Pechakucha challenge for effective presentations, which was held at the Madrid College of Industrial Engineers.
Alfonso Rodríguez de Sadia, CEO of LEDU, highlights that
"our relationship is now in its fifth year and, since its inception, has not focused on individual transactions but has been built on young talent, maintaining a solid relationship between the two companies over time. At LEDU, we believe that building long-term relationships with our sponsors goes beyond that, it's about establishing genuine connections that last over time to connect talent."
Integral support for oratory extended to the University LEDU
At the same time, SEUR will participate in the organisation of the Spanish Pre-University Debating Championship 'LEDU Cup', aimed at 4th year ESO and Bachillerato students. This competition will take place from 28 to 30 June at the Almansa Campus of CUNEF University as the leading debate event for students at this academic level. In addition, as part of the agreement, SEUR will provide logistical support for this event.
