The Carbon Calculator we launched in 2023 enables shippers to access and analyse their emissions in near real-time. Built with our customers and accredited by the Smart Freight Centre, the tool tracks parcels through our network, providing shipment-specific emissions data. Already available across 20 European business units, the calculator ensures that as we reduce our emissions, so do our customers.
Our low emission pick-up and delivery fleet has tripled in size since 2020 to reach more than 9,000 vehicles in 2023. As we accelerate the switch to more sustainable deliveries, our range of delivery options offer consumers flexibility, convenience and choice. For businesses, they help create a positive customer experience that goes beyond what's in the parcel.

Explore the driving forces behind the purchasing decisions, with a significant shift towards sustainability and second-hand platforms. Nearly three-quarters of European e-shoppers use second-hand platforms, and a third are buying more than before. This trend is fuelled by economic necessity and a growing preference for sustainability, with 34% of C2C shoppers specifically choosing second-hand products to support environmental efforts.
The circular economy has both environmental and business benefits. By reducing the waste we generate, reusing materials wherever possible and recycling at every opportunity, we lessen our impact on the environment while maximising the value we obtain from our business resources and assets. It helps remove waste from the overall system.
Our Shop2Shop service is one example, enabling sustainable and affordable shop-to-shop deliveries for private consumers. To facilitate this, we’re building our Pickup network, allowing senders to generate a QR code to drop off parcels at a time and place that suits them. Thanks to initiatives such as Shop2Shop and our expanding Pickup network, we achieved growth of 67% in pre-loved product delivery volumes between 2022 and 2023.
